【Japan|Aichi】Toyohashi Fireworks Festival|Toyokawa Inari & Peach Picking Experience|With Dinner Bento|Depart from Nagoya
Toyohashi Fireworks Festival
The Toyohashi Fireworks Festival traces its origins back to the Edo period as one of Japan's three major fireworks festivals, originally known as the "Mikawa Yoshida Fireworks." The festival is organized by Yoshida Shrine, the birthplace of Japan's traditional tezutsu hanabi (hand-held fireworks). What makes the Toyohashi Fireworks Festival truly unique is the continuous display of competition fireworks starting from the daytime and lasting until the official opening at 7:00 PM. Throughout the town, you can hear the sounds of fireworks echoing all day long.
Another highlight of the festival is the "River Stage," where fireworks are launched over the Toyokawa River. Fireworks are launched from three different points on boats, creating a spectacular and varied display over two hours. The grand finale is the awe-inspiring “Ocean of Giant Fireworks,” where fireworks stretch across a 140-meter span over the Toyokawa River. The reflection on the water makes for a breathtaking and emotional experience.

As the venue is located along a river and involves walking through grassy areas, insect repellent is highly recommended.
-
Although trash bins are available, due to the large number of attendees, please bring your own trash bags, tissues, and wet wipes for cleanliness.
-
Since the event continues into the evening, bringing a flashlight or portable light is advisable.
-
Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for walking and standing.

Toyokawa Inari Shrine
Toyokawa Inari is one of Japan’s three major Inari shrines and is known for bringing good fortune in business. Officially named Myōgon-ji, it was founded in 1441 during the Muromachi period and has been worshipped by historical figures such as Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu. Today, it attracts about five million visitors annually.
After paying respects at the main hall, be sure to visit Reikozuka, an area filled with fox statues. Originally a sacred site for dedicating fox effigies, it now features over 1,000 stone fox statues donated by worshippers. The dense and varied arrangement of foxes creates a striking and unique sight.
