The Kansai-Airport Express "HARUKA" is the best way to get from Kansai Airport to major Kansai cities such as Tennoji, Osaka, Shin-Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and Nara. It is a convenient and comfortable express train.

The driving time from Kansai Airport to Tennoji is about 35 minutes, to Shin-Osaka about 50 minutes, and to Kyoto about 80 minutes. There are 60 buses running every day (30 round trips).

How to Use

New Usage Method: QR Code Ticketing Service

【Ticket Validity】

  • Usage Period: March 17, 2025 – March 31, 2026

  • This ticket is only valid on the day of use.

  • Reserved seat tickets can be exchanged only once.

  • If all reserved seat allocations are used or if no reservation was made in advance, you may use the non-reserved seats instead.


【How to Use】

  1. Access the "WEST QR Exclusive Website" using your smartphone and display the QR code.

  2. Scan the displayed QR code at the automatic ticket gate to pass through.

【Preparation Before Use】

  1. Receive the "WEST QR Ticket Voucher".

  2. Visit the "WEST QR Exclusive Website" via the link provided on your voucher.

  3. Create an account by entering a valid email address, setting a custom password, and selecting your country/region.

  4. After logging in, a pop-up window will appear asking whether you want to link your ticket. Choose your preferred option.

    • Alternatively, you can manually enter the serial number in the "WEST QR Exclusive Website" to link your ticket.

  5. Reserved seats for the "HARUKA" train can be selected on the "WEST QR Exclusive Website", with reservations available from 30 days in advance up to 3 minutes before departure.

    • Important: "HARUKA" reserved seats cannot be reserved at station ticket machines or counters.

    • Seats can only be chosen from the "WEST QR Ticket Exclusive Seats". If these seats are fully booked, you may use non-reserved seats or select available "WEST QR Exclusive Seats" on another train.


【Steps on the Day of Use】

  1. Log in to the "WEST QR Exclusive Website" with your registered account.

  2. Select the ticket you wish to use from the ticket list.

  3. On the ticket details page, click the "Start Use" button to activate the ticket.

  4. The QR code will be displayed on the ticket details page. Scan it at the red QR code scanner on the automatic ticket gate to pass through.


【Important Notes】

  • If the ticket gate does not have a QR code scanner, use the designated "WEST QR" scan area nearby for verification and entry.

  • Screenshots or printed copies of the QR code cannot be used.

  • A smartphone with internet connectivity is required to retrieve QR code information when passing through the gates.

Green Ticket Machine

  1. Upon successful booking, a confirmation email will be automatically sent to the email address registered during reservation.
  2. Present the verification code or QR code along with the passport of the non-Japanese traveler at the designated station ticket machine (see the website for details) to redeem a physical ticket.
    • The ticket machines support five languages: Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, and Korean.
    • ※ Check the website for exchange location details.
    • ※ Check the website for eMCO exchange guidelines.
    • ※ If the ticket machine is out of order or your passport does not have an IC chip, please redeem your ticket at the designated station’s "Green Window."
  3. Successfully redeem your physical ticket.
  4. To obtain a reserved seat ticket, exchange your physical ticket for a designated seat ticket at the Green Ticket Machine before boarding.

Activity Information

[Eligibility for Purchase]

  • Must hold a passport issued by a government outside of Japan.
  • Must have a residence status equivalent to "Temporary Visitor" (as defined by Japan’s Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act).

[Important Notes]

  • The [HARUKA Train Ticket] is valid only for the HARUKA Limited Express train and cannot be used on other limited express trains.
  • Within the designated usage area, you may take other trains such as the Special Rapid, Rapid, and Local trains, except for the HARUKA Limited Express.
  • If you choose to take a train other than the HARUKA Limited Express, the free-seating HARUKA Limited Express ticket is non-refundable. We appreciate your understanding.
  • You may disembark at any station within the valid usage area. However, as this is not a rail pass, your ticket will be collected at the ticket gate upon exit.
  • Travel beyond the designated area is allowed but requires an additional fare.
  • If you wish to reserve a designated seat or travel in the Green Car (first-class car, Car No. 1) on the HARUKA Limited Express, an additional limited express fee is required.
  • If you board a train or car that requires a boarding ticket or reserved seat ticket, you must pay the additional fare.

[Booking Confirmation]

  • This product requires two confirmations. After a successful booking, you will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours. Please check your inbox promptly.
  • If the minimum required number of participants is not met, a cancellation email will be sent 4 days before departure.
  • If you do not receive the confirmation email within the specified time (including checking your spam folder), please contact our travel consultant by email or call +852 2152-3599 during office hours.
