• The JR TOKYO Wide Pass is valid only for limited express trains departing from or arriving at JR stations that operate through to Tobu Railway. It is not valid for limited express trains that start or end at Tobu Railway stations. (When boarding limited express trains at Tochigi, Shimo-Imaichi, Shin-Kanuma, Tobu-Nikko, Tobu World Square, or Kinugawa Onsen Stations, either the departure or arrival station must be a JR station.)

Notes:

• The JR TOKYO Wide Pass cannot be used on the Tokaido Shinkansen (as it is operated by a different company).

• *When taking the “Fujisan Limited Express” or “Fujisan View Express” on the Fujikyu Line, or the “Fujisan Tozan Densha” sightseeing train, an additional fee is required for reserved seats.

• GALA Yuzawa Station is open only during the winter–spring season.

• The JR TOKYO Wide Pass cannot be used on JR buses.

Exchange Details:

1. Purchase the JR Pass e-ticket on this website before your trip and print it out on white A4 paper.

2. Upon arrival in Japan, bring the printed e-ticket and your passport to an exchange office to receive your actual JR Pass.

3. Exchange office hours and operations may change; please check before departure.

4. After receiving your JR Pass, simply present it at a manned ticket gate to ride JR trains directly.

• The exchange order is valid for 90 days after your order is confirmed.

• The pass is valid for use only by the person named on it.

• Please ensure that the name entered matches your passport exactly. If the names do not match, the JR Pass cannot be exchanged.

Important Notes:

• Child fare eligibility is based on the child’s age on the date of purchase. A valid ID (such as a passport) showing the child’s age must be presented when purchasing.

• Children under 6 years old who do not occupy a seat do not need to purchase a pass.

• An additional fee applies when using Green Cars (First Class) or Gran Class (Premium Class).

• This pass does not offer youth or student discounts.

• Each traveler may only use one JR TOKYO Wide Pass per trip in Japan. If validity periods overlap, the same type of pass cannot be purchased twice.

• Infants under 1 year old travel for free.

• Child Pass: ages 6–11

• Adult Pass: ages 12 and above

• An adult pass holder may bring up to two children aged 1–5 free of charge (without seats). A third child in the same age range must purchase a child pass. (Eligible free infants do not require a pass.)

• When a child occupies a reserved seat in an ordinary car, or when traveling alone, a child pass must be purchased.

• The pass is for personal use only and non-transferable.

• Please carry your passport when using the pass and present it upon request by JR staff.

• The terms of use for the pass are defined by JR East’s transportation regulations and Japanese law.

• The conditions for the exchange voucher are governed by the issuing company’s policies and contract terms.

Confirmation Details:

• A confirmation notice will be sent to your registered email address within 48 hours after a successful booking.

• If you do not receive the confirmation email (in either your inbox or spam folder) within the stated time, please contact customer service as soon as possible.

Eligibility:

• Must hold a passport issued outside of Japan.

• Must enter Japan under a status of residence permitted for “Temporary Visitor” under Japan’s Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act.

Refund and Change Policy (Exchange Voucher / Electronic Voucher):

• Once the pass has been exchanged or issued, the validity period cannot be changed.

• Lost, stolen, damaged, or partially used vouchers or passes cannot be reissued or refunded.

• Refunds or extensions will not be provided for reasons such as train delays, service suspensions, or other travel disruptions. Costs arising from such events (including accommodation, meals, or transportation) will not be compensated.

Refund and Change Policy (Physical Ticket):

• Physical tickets are non-refundable and non-changeable under any circumstances.

• Lost, stolen, damaged, or partially used vouchers or passes cannot be reissued or refunded.

• Refunds or extensions will not be granted due to train delays, cancellations, or service interruptions. Expenses incurred due to such events (including accommodation, meals, or transportation) will not be covered.
