Day 2Vung Tau > Jesus Mountain (to enter the Jesus statue, tops must have sleeves, shorts or skirts must be knee-length) > Ho Chi Minh City > Former Presidential Palace
【Jesus Mountain】: Influenced by the former colonial rule, Catholicism holds a significant position in Vietnam. The Jesus statue standing on Nui Lon in Vung Tau City, similar to the Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is one of the few large-scale Jesus sculptures in the world today. The statue was built by Americans in 1971, during the most intense period of the Vietnam War, with the intention of protecting the peace of Vung Tau City. The Vung Tau Jesus statue is the largest Christian statue in Asia. After restoration in 1993, it became a major pilgrimage site for Catholics across Vietnam. 【Former Presidential Palace】: This presidential palace is now called the Independence Palace (Dinh Độc Lập), a must-see attraction for tourists in Ho Chi Minh City. It is an important witness to Vietnamese history, having seen Vietnam's journey from French colonial rule to the division of North and South, and finally to reunification. Visitors can gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam's modern history and feel the vicissitudes of time by touring the Reunification Palace. The architectural style of the Independence Palace blends Western modernism with traditional Vietnamese elements, possessing unique artistic charm and holding significant value for the study of architectural art and cultural exchange.

【Cu Chi Tunnels】: The historically significant Cu Chi Tunnels are located northwest of Ho Chi Minh City and were an important underground base during the Vietnam War. The tunnel system here stretches over 200 kilometers, interwoven into three layers, resembling an underground maze. Visitors can enter the narrow tunnels to experience the combat and living conditions of the Viet Cong back then, feeling their resilience and tenacity. The tunnels are also equipped with facilities like hospitals and food storage, showing comprehensive planning. Additionally, war remnants can be seen on the ground, serving as a sobering reminder. The Cu Chi Tunnels are not only a military marvel but also an excellent place to understand Vietnamese history and national spirit.

【My Tho City】: My Tho City, situated at the mouth of the Mekong River Delta, is about 75 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. This place resembles a Vietnamese utopia, famous for its abundant fruit production. The Mekong River flows through, forming the four islands of Dragon, Phoenix, Tortoise, and Unicorn. Taking a cruise boat through the waterways offers a panoramic view of tropical plants and unique water coconut palms. Disembark at Thoi Son Island, stroll through the tropical fruit orchards filled with fragrant fruits, enjoy Vietnamese folk songs, and watch coconut candy being made. My Tho City is tranquil and peaceful, exuding a charming tropical ambiance, making it an excellent place to experience the charm of Vietnam's water villages and taste a variety of fruits.
