【Attraction Highlights】

Kishi Station – Home of the Famous Cat Stationmaster

Kishi Station became famous for its cat stationmasters. After the Wakayama Electric Railway took over in 2006, the station became unmanned. To promote tourism, the local store’s pet cat “Tama” was appointed stationmaster, becoming a national sensation.
After Tama’s passing in 2015, her successor “Nitama” took over. The line features three themed trains: Tama, Strawberry, and Toy Train. Visitors can meet the feline stationmaster, enjoy the “Neko Café,” collect cat stamps, and shop for adorable souvenirs.
(Note: Stationmaster Nitama rests on Wednesdays and Thursdays; trainee Yontama substitutes.)

Shirahama ToreTore Market – Japan’s Largest Seafood Market

Located in Shirahama, ToreTore Market showcases the freshest local catches. You may witness a tuna dissection show (2–3 times daily, subject to market schedule).
This large-scale seafood complex offers fresh sashimi, seafood BBQ areas (Adults ¥800 / Children ¥500 for 90 mins, food purchased separately), souvenirs, and local products such as dried seafood and sake.

ToreTore Onsen (Optional)

A historic hot spring with over 1,350 years of history, mentioned in ancient Japanese chronicles such as Nihon Shoki.
Entrance Fee: Adults ¥800 / Children ¥400 / Towels ¥160 / Bath towel ¥410.
Spring type: Sodium bicarbonate hot spring, famous for soft, smooth skin benefits.

Senjojiki

A spectacular rock terrace formed by the erosion of sandstone cliffs by Pacific waves, covering about 4 hectares. The layered rocks resemble a thousand tatami mats—hence the name Senjojiki. Recognized among Japan’s “100 Best Sunset Spots.”

Sandanbeki Cliffs & Cave

Part of Yoshino-Kumano National Park, these majestic cliffs stretch 2 km and rise 50–60 m above sea level. A historical hideout for pirates during the Heian period, visitors can now descend 36 m via elevator into the Sandanbeki Cave, featuring maritime relics and dramatic sea-carved formations. (Entrance ticket required.)

Shinsaibashi & Dotonbori (Osaka)

Famous shopping and dining districts filled with department stores, boutiques, and drugstores.
Dotonbori is Osaka’s food paradise—try takoyaki, okonomiyaki, ramen, or the famous Kani Doraku crab restaurant.
