The Wild Manta Rays of Nanuya Balavu Island

In the clear waters surrounding Nanuya Balavu Island, you may have the chance to encounter majestic wild manta rays. These graceful giants of the sea can reach wingspans of 4 to 5 meters and are renowned for their gentle nature.

Experience and Observation

From May to October, manta rays frequently appear in the lagoons and coral reef areas near the island. You can snorkel alongside them for a close-up view of their elegant movements. Feeding primarily on plankton, manta rays are harmless to humans, making this a safe and unforgettable experience.

Since this area is a natural habitat for wild manta rays, sightings cannot be guaranteed. If manta rays are not spotted, the instructor will guide you to snorkel in the waters to explore coral reefs and other marine life. Please note that activity fees are non-refundable.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Itinerary Description

One-Day Tour (Departure: 08:45; Return to Main Island: 18:00)

• 08:00 – Hotel pick-up, transfer to the pier
• 08:45 – Depart from the pier, head to Manta Ray Island
• 11:45 – Arrive at Manta Ray Island
• 12:00 – Snorkeling excursion
• 13:15 – Lunch
• 15:00 – Depart from the island
• 18:00 – Return to Denarau Port

 

Important Notes:

• Available from May to October each year; children under 4 years old are not permitted to participate.
• Photography services are not provided on the island.
• Hotels such as Hilton, Marriott, InterContinental, and Shangri-La do not include free pick-up services.
• As this area is a wild manta ray habitat, sightings cannot be guaranteed. If manta rays are not seen, the instructor will take you snorkeling to explore coral reefs and other marine life. Activity fees are non-refundable.
• Please bring your own towels, toiletries, sunscreen, sunglasses, and other personal items.
